NEW!!! “America’s “Old Glory” Sports Car” Corvette Prints Series

Scott Teeters’ New Corvette Art Prints Series for 2017!

Dateline: 9.1.17 – In November 2015 I helped out with Jan Hyde’s John Greenwood Tribute Event at Daytona International Speedway. Jan is the owner of Registry of Corvette Race Cars. My part of the effort was the creation of a promotional flyer, a two-sided poster featuring Greenwood’s Stars and Stripes BF Goodrich Corvette and his Spirit of Daytona ’76 Corvette on the high banks of Daytona, and a hand-out sticker featuring a profile view of Greenwood’s Sebring ’75 Corvette in front of an American flag. (see the end of this post)

The graphic layout for the sticker stuck with me and I kept looking at it thinking there might be something there as a new prints series that would appeal to Corvette owners and fans of all generation Corvettes.

After numerous prototype layouts I settled in on “America’s “Old Glory” Sports Car”. The first one was kind of easy, but once layout completed, I knew I had a ton of work ahead of me. What started out as a fairly simple idea turned into my Project for 2017! And now, it is ready to present. Continue reading

The Grand Debut of NEW Corvette Engine Blueprint Series

Dateline: 1.19.17 – C6 Z06 LS7 and C7 Z06 LT4 Engines Kick off NEW Corvette Art Print Series

The Corvette legend has many aspects. Most obvious is the car’s outstanding good looks. Generally it is good to look at the various styles of Corvettes from the perspective of their day – what did regular cars of the day look like. Only then is it obvious how far advanced Corvette styling has always been.

You can order your print today from our safe and secure Amazon store, HERE.

Equally important within the Corvette mystique is what’s under the hood. Many Corvette engines have become automotive heroes and legends. I am launching a new Corvette art prints series called, “Corvette Engine Blueprint Series.” Continue reading

Stunning 3D Printed LS3 Corvette Model Engine – Video

3d-printed-ls3-corvette-engine

Dateline: 1.7.17 – 3D Printing Makes Working LS3 Corvette Model Engine

Most of us are at least lightly familiar with 3D Printing. It’s an amazing leap that has its roots in ink jet printing. Back in 1990 I bought the first HP ink jet printer as an alternative to a cheap $150 dot matrix or an expensive $2,500 laser printer. The HP Ink-Jet Printer cost me $950 and was promoted as a “deal.” But we never dreamed that the basic mechanics of the back-and-forth spraying of ink would one day lead to the spraying of a sub-strait material to build 3D “things”! Here’s the video…

All of the parts of this kinetically functioning LS3 model engine were 3D printed and the parts all go together just like the real thing. Continue reading

A Salute to the C6 Corvette: We all still LOVE big-blocks!

ICS_194_2005-2013

by Scott Teeters, Corvette Artist and Writer, Editor of Corvette Report
The awesome C7 stands on the shoulders of the C6 Z06!

Dateline 11.18.15: The C7 continues to rack up the kudos, but that doesn’t mean that the C6 Corvettes are less than awesome. Ever since the early days of the 1960s when Chevrolet started rolling out their mid-engine Corvette prototypes and engineering study cars, fans have been waiting for a new Corvette that is revolutionary, rather than evolutionary. Dave Hill and his team inject the Corvette with Cadillac quality

by Scott Teeters as written for Vette Vues

Dateline: October 2015 – So much has happened in the last 20 years it’s easy to forget that during the early to mid ‘90s, GM was having financial troubles and went through some serious restructuring. At one point the Corvette’s existence was on the line. Fortunately, cool heads prevailed and once again, the Corvette escaped the chopping block. Continue reading

DYNO BLAST HCI C6 Corvette Z06 Makes 600 Rear Wheel Horsepower VIDEO

By Patrick Rall as republished from ls1tech.com

Dateline October 2015: This Dyno Blast video features a C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with a handful of modifications in action on the rollers.

To be specific, this previous generation Corvette Z06 has aftermarket heads, camshaft and intake manifold, and while it isn’t mentioned, I would guess that it also has an aftermarket exhaust system – based on the roar at full throttle. Continue reading

The Most Powerful and Advanced Corvette Pace Cars Ever!

Dateline: 10.14.15: 2012 ZR1 Corvette – Before the arrival of the ZR1 in 2009, there’d been rumors about the “possibility” of a supercharged Corvette called the “Blue Devil,” even though no one was complaining about the Z06 or the base 430-horsepower Corvette being weak in the knees. The unleashed, supercharged 638-horsepower ZR1 had a top speed of 205-mph and was like a slightly more user-friendly Z06 on steroids. It was just a surprise that it took until 2012 for the ZR1 to pace the Indy 500! Back in 1981 race winner Bobbie Unser had a pole winning speed of 200.546-mph! Continue reading

Dateline October 2015 Corvette ride-and-handling engineer Jim Mero knows a thing or three about putting down a fast lap. Watch him attack the Nürburgring in a C6 ZR1 on YouTube if you don’t believe us (see above). During his 11 years working on the Corvette, he estimates that he has done more than 15,000 laps on tracks all over the world. Continue reading

The Last C6 Corvette – Was it the Best? by K. Scott Teeters

Was the “Best C6” the Last C6? Illustrated Corvette Series No. 222 – The Last C6 Corvette

Milestone Corvettes have become a fascinating part of the Corvette story. Prior to the white 1992 1,000,000th Corvette convertible, no one was paying any attention to numerical milestones or first and last of any Corvettes. When the C4 1984 Corvette came out, 51,547 customers said, “I’ll take one!” When the C3 1968 Mako Shark II-inspired Corvette was unleashed, 28,569 fans placed their order. The ’63 Sting Ray was a total game-changer from the C1 and 21,513 customers got in line with the roadster out-selling the now-iconic split-window coupe, 10,919 units to 10,594 units. And when the ’53 Corvette came out, most of America said, “What’s that?” Continue reading

2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Bowling Green Special

The Illustrated Corvette Designer Series No. 214 – 2006 Z06 Corvette

Words and Art by Scott Teeters as written for Vette Magazine and republished from www.SuperChevy.com

Dateline: 7-28-15: Let’s back up a bit. The C5 Z06 was a game changer. Costing just $7,025 more than the $40,475 base ’01 Corvette, the Z06 was a true bargain. Unlike the ’63 RPO Z06 “racer kit” option that wore no external trim, the C5 Z06 sported unique, wide wheels shod with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, steel mesh inserts in the front fascia, and rear side brake scoops.

When the C6 debuted in late 2004, it was about 30 seconds later when fans asked, “So, where’s the Z06?” When the C6 Z06 arrived a year later, it was worth the wait and proved to be a wolf in wolf’s clothing. Where the C5 was muscular, the C6 was sharp and crisp, like a freshly pressed business suit. The C6 Z06 was a pressed C6 with extra starch, steroids, protein powder, and a heavy workout at the ALMS racing gym. This widebody configuration was used on the Z06 through the remainder of the C6 run, plus served as the platform for the 205-mph capable ’09 -’13 ZR1 and the ’10-’13 Grand Sport.
