My First Corvette Moment: The Day It All Began
You could say that this has been a long time in the making.
Yeah, 61 years since 1965! That’s when I was stung by a 1965 Sting Ray Coupe in the Haddonfield Chevrolet showroom, in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Looking back, it’s clear to me now that, at the time, I was clueless as to what a life-altering day that was. And I thought I was just going out for a ride with my big brother, Bob, in his ’57 Chevy Bel Air.

I first wrote the story for Vette Vues Magazine in 2023. I posted the story later that year. Afterwards, I didn’t give it much thought. Then, starting in early 2025, my lovely wife and business partner, Karen, has been saying, “Dude, you need to get back on YouTube! YouTube! YouTube!”
She had a point.
From 2013 to 2016, I had an internet radio program called Far Out Radio that mostly covered spooky stuff and things that go bump in the night. I made YouTube videos of my shows and had over 600 videos on the “Far Out Radio” YouTube channel.

So, we’re happy to tell you that Corvette Report is now on YouTube!
And to launch Corvette Report on YouTube, I thought I should start at the beginning.
My beginning. My first Corvette moment.
The video tells the story of my first Corvette encounter, my first ride in a Corvette, my first starter Corvette, and the Corvette that broke my heart.
It was a fun trip down Memory Lane that brought back memories I hadn’t thought about in decades.

This image was AFTER I cleaned it up in Photoshop. The original scan was worse. The ChatGPT version in the video looks great! I had it close the hood and doors, then add the Cragar mags so that it looks the way it did when I bought the car.

Making this video motivated me to find old photos I thought were lost. But I found them – along with a few other things I’d forgotten I had.
Most of those old pictures were shot with a little Kodak Instamatic camera. Those cameras were super easy to use, had nice bright colors, and plenty of grain. With help from ChatGPT, I was able to bring those old pictures back to life.
Three of the images in the video are recreations with ChatGPT, based on my descriptions of events that happened more than 50 years ago. They aren’t exact, but they help tell the story.
Going forward, Corvette Report will regularly upload new stories, along with documentary-style video versions of some of our most viewed and most popular posts. Whenever a new video is posted on YouTube, we’ll let you know.
So, here’s our first one:
